Privacy Policy

This policy explains what the Lynz app (“Lynz”, “we”) collects, why, and the choices you have. Lynz is made by Habib Adebisi. If you have a question, email adetoba53@gmail.com.

The short version: your scripts and videos stay on your device unless you choose to sign in or use the AI features. We don’t show ads, we don’t track you across other apps or websites, and we don’t sell your data.

What stays on your device

• Your voice. Lynz follows your reading with Apple’s speech recognition. Audio is processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy and is never sent to us.
• Camera recordings. Videos you record are saved to your Photos library. We never receive them.
• Scripts. Scripts are saved on your device. They only leave it if you sign in (to sync) or use an AI feature, as described below.

What we collect

• Account details (optional). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name, email address and a user ID through Firebase Authentication (Google). If you use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we only see the relay address. You can use Lynz without an account.
• Synced scripts (only when signed in). When you’re signed in, your scripts are stored in Cloud Firestore (Google) so they appear on your other devices.
• Text you send to AI features. When you write a script with AI or fix a line, the topic, options and text you entered are sent to our server and to OpenAI to produce the result. We don’t store this text on our server after the request finishes, and OpenAI doesn’t use data sent through its API to train its models.
• A random device ID. Lynz creates a random ID on install to count your free AI scripts. It isn’t linked to your name or used for advertising.
• Purchases. Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Lynz Pro, which shares your purchase history and an app user ID with RevenueCat.
• App integrity. We use Firebase App Check to confirm requests come from the genuine Lynz app, which uses Apple’s App Attest/DeviceCheck.
• Server logs. Our server keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address and time of request) to stop abuse and fix problems.

Why we use it

Only to run Lynz: to sign you in, sync your scripts, generate AI scripts, apply your free and Pro limits, and keep the service secure. We don’t use your data for advertising or tracking, and we don’t sell or rent it.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that run parts of Lynz for us: Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, App Check), OpenAI (AI features), RevenueCat (subscriptions) and Apple (purchases and speech recognition). Each processes data only to provide its service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Account details and synced scripts are kept until you delete them or your account. Free-credit counters are kept while you use the app. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account in Lynz: Settings → account options → Delete account. This deletes your account and synced scripts.
• Use Lynz without an account to keep scripts only on your device.
• Turn off permissions (microphone, speech recognition, camera, photos) in the Settings app at any time.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing adetoba53@gmail.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Nigeria’s Data Protection Act), you may have further rights, including complaining to your local data protection authority.

Children

Lynz isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with providers that encrypt it at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect and who can access it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
